MajiFund is a collaborative initiative led by VOx Impuls and Cewas and is supported through the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Stone Family Foundation, Viva con Agua, and other supporting partners.
The partnership is highly complementary, bringing decades of experience in working with the private WASH sector.
Implementing partners
Within the MajiFund, Cewas, responsible for overall program implementation, grants, and technical assistance, is the leading WASH enterprise support organization in the Global South, having worked with over 400 WASH SMEs, scaling their business models, growing their impact potential, and enhancing their investment readiness. The supported enterprises have created new or improved access to water and sanitation for 5.3 million people.
VOx Impuls , responsible in the MajiFund for the loan component, is a Netherlands-based family foundation and a pioneer in providing early-stage repayable finance solutions to WASH SMEs. Aims to contribute to lasting solutions in drinking water service delivery and sanitation solutions throughout the sanitation value chain. Includes treatment businesses through early-stage financial support.
Supporting partners
The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation aims to improve the lives of individuals living in poverty and experiencing disadvantage throughout the world. One of its strategic initiatives is to enhance health and prosperity through safe water services for rural communities in Ethiopia, Ghana, and Uganda.
The Stone Family Foundation supports innovative, sustainable, entrepreneurial solutions to major social problems. Its focus includes supporting people to access water in the home in Africa and Asia, as well as UK portfolios focused on mental health and disadvantaged youth.
Viva con Agua is a global network of activists and organizations, including a thriving team in Kampala, Uganda, with the vision to activate ALL 4 WATER to turn WATER 4 ALL into reality. Viva con Agua supports and realizes WASH projects and specializes in utilizing the universal languages of arts, music, and sports to raise awareness and transform access to WASH.
